Finca las XV

This vineyard, located in the heart of Rioja Alta, was planted 35 years ago in a 33 ha plot and is in a privileged area influenced by an Atlantic type climate, making it ideal for winegrowing. The pruning method on this estate was changed 10 years ago from a goblet to a trellis system, with the aim of achieving the optimum distribution of clusters and good sun exposure. As a result, mature and fully healthy grapes are grown and harvested in boxes, from which a complex and stable wine with an elegant aroma is made. It is perfect for aging.

Finca elvillar

Sheltered by the Cantabria mountain range, it stands out because there are very few plots of over 1 ha amongst the broken terrain in the area. This smooth hillside with limestone-clay soil is an ideal plot for a vineyard. The summers in this area are short and the winters are warm. As a result, this vineyard produces wines with medium alcohol content and moderate total acidity which are transformed into fresh and balanced wines after being aged in barrels.

Finca vieja

Set on a steep slope, it is sheltered from the cold north winds by the Toloño and Cantabria mountain ranges. This vineyard has limestone-clay soil and produces a Tempranillo grape with excellent qualities for making barrel-aged wines with medium alcohol content and moderate acidity.

Finca los cuartos

It’s located in Cenicero at an altitude of 450 m, has a surface area of 36 ha, and is a 50-year-old plot It produces six clusters per vine, and harvesting is carried out using boxes. All this produces a grape from which a balanced, stable, and full-bodied wine is made with an average alcohol content and high total acidity that is ideal for aging in barrels.

Finca el barco

Rioja Alta is known for its long winters, cool summers, and warm autumns, as well as for its predominant Atlantic type climate. It has light soil with plenty of stones, and good sun exposure. All this produces a grape from which a balanced, stable, and full-bodied wine is made with an average alcohol content and high total acidity that is ideal for aging in barrels.

Finca graciano

Next to our winery and on the left bank of the River Ebro. These parcels are unique, as the difficulty involved in growing these vines and their late ripening cycle have decimated the hectares of this variety in La Rioja. We decided to plant them ourselves because they help increase the aromatic strength of the Tempranillo musts in our Reservas and Grandes Reservas, as well as contributing to its color and structure.

Finca los almendros

The largest vineyard of the D.O.Ca Rioja in extension. Perfect grape maturation is achieved thanks to the sunny winters and hot summers. Rosé wines are made from the Garnacha grape variety grown in 100 ha of clay soil. These rosé wines are aromatic, fresh on the palate, and have a low acidity level. Tempranillo grapes are also grown on this estate, which along with the Graciano and Maturana grape varieties provide fresh red wines Their suitable alcohol content, color, and body help the aging process.

Finca carbonera

Finca Carbonera is the product of El Coto de Rioja’s concern for exploring new terrains and climates inside of Rioja. The property, due to its altitude, is the perfect place to cultivate the new white grape varieties approved by the Rioja Regulatory Council. This impressive vineyard is characterized by a low pH, a high acidity and a concentration of minerals. A deeper aroma and a greater freshness for our wines are guaranteed.
