ELABORATION
Coto Mayor Reserva is made with grapes from our own vineyards located in Rioja Alavesa and Finca Los Almendros. Careful fermentation for 22-30 days in small stainless steel tanks, managed in parallel with gentle maceration, allows us to achieve a balance between the expression of the fruit and the terroir, giving this wine its necessary personality.
It is aged for 18 months in new American oak barrels, specially selected by our winemakers, followed by a minimum of 18 months of bottle aging to achieve its characteristic elegance.
TASTING NOTES
Coto Mayor Reserva has an intense ruby colour with a brick-red rim. On the nose, we appreciate aromas of sweet spices, fine cocoa and ripe fruit. On the palate, it is a meaty wine with hints of chocolate and great persistence. The result is a very pleasant and balanced reserve red wine.
PAIRING
This Rioja reserve wine is ideal for accompanying roast suckling lamb, game or red meat. It should be served at a temperature of between 16 and 18 ºC (60.8-64.4ºF).
