
A sustainable crianza wine
This organic Rioja wine combines quality and sustainability. It is certified in accordance with European organic regulations and is environmentally friendly, both inside and out. All the materials used in its packaging are designed to have the minimum environmental impact. Made from Tempranillo grapes, its tasting notes highlight its red fruit aromas and persistent body. ELABORATION
El Coto Crianza Organic is made from organically grown grapes, using traditional, environmentally friendly practices without the use of synthetic chemicals. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a moderate temperature, with gentle extraction of polyphenolic compounds. After this process, the wine is aged in 225-litre American oak barrels in our cellar for a minimum of 12 months.
El Coto Crianza Organic can be said to be a wine produced sustainably from start to finish. The entire production process has been carried out in completely independent facilities. From the transport of the grapes to the cellar, through the production process, ageing and subsequent bottle ageing, everything has been carried out in facilities separate from the rest of the winery’s wines. All these processes have been certified in accordance with European organic regulations.
PACKAGING
The capsule covering the bottle’s cork is made from bio-based polyethylene and the inks are acrylic-based, which are more environmentally friendly. Furthermore, El Coto Organic bottles are lighter, weighing only 365 grams. This reduces the energy consumption required for their production and lowers their carbon footprint during transport.
The labels are made from paper produced with 15% citrus pulp and 40% recycled paper. In addition, the cardboard used for the boxes is PEFC and FSC certified, which certifies the origin of the forest raw material (seed/plant) and sustainable forest management. Finally, the inks used on the cardboard are water-based, meaning they do not contain any hazardous substances or additives that are harmful to the environment.
TASTING NOTES
This ruby-red Tempranillo red wine offers a vibrant acidity on the palate, with polished and pleasant tannins. On the nose, there are notes of red fruit, combined with balsamic aromas. It also lingers on the palate.
PAIRING
Our organic crianza is very versatile, ideal for accompanying rice dishes, stews and cheese and charcuterie boards. The recommended serving temperature is between 16 and 18ºC (60.8-64.4ºF).
